The Butler’s Church Planter’s in Tampa, FL
God is so good, and we are thankful for the beautiful Gospel! Here is an update of the months of October/November from
Lighthouse Baptist Church:
Youth Rally:
In the month of October, we had the opportunity to take 5 teenagers from our community to a youth rally hosted by the Faith
Baptist Church in Wesley Chapel, FL. It was a blessing to take our teens away from our neighborhood for a day and get them around
teenagers from other churches. Leaving Tampa isn’t something a lot of our teens get to do. I have met teenagers in our
neighborhood that have never even seen the Gulf of Mexico which is about an hour drive from us. During the Youth Rally the
Preacher’s message was about being without excuse before God. Thankfully two of the teens that we took made professions of faith
after the message. Praise the Lord.
Pie Drive:
On November 22nd, we hosted our fourth annual Pie Drive. This is when we give away 125 pies to our community and as with any of
our outreach events, we give a very detailed gospel tract with it. We also have all our guests register which during the registration
we have an opportunity to ask them about their eternal home. This year was especially interesting, we had people lining up at the
church almost 2 hours before we opened the doors to begin the event. Upon opening the doors at 5pm we had to stop the event
only 29 mins after it started because we ran out of pies. It is good to see the relationship that is being built with the community
through this yearly event. This year we had 20 people that specifically said they would like to have someone visit them at their home
to talk about salvation. We have done several follow up visits already and so far every person we have talked to we have been able
to go through the plan of Salvation with them. Although there have been no professions of faith yet. Each person we have talked to
has been caught up in false teaching about how to go to heaven. Please pray for the Lord to open their eyes for them to see their
need for the Gospel.
Hannah Health:
In our last prayer letter, we told everyone about Hannah starting to have unexplained seizures. Since our last update Hannah has
been able to see a Neurologist which has been running tests on her. The Doctor also has started her on some medicine which is
supposed to help eventually take the seizures away, this process can take upward to two years. The Neurologist said he sees people
that are Hannah’s age every day that have unexplained seizures. He said unfortunately there is no medical explanation for them. All
of the tests that he is running are for precautionary reasons. He said in his 43years of experience almost all of these tests have come
back negative in the other patients that he has seen. Please keep Hannah in your prayer’s the seizures are still active and are
affecting daily life activities. Thankfully we have been able to figure out some of the triggers that start the seizures, but
unfortunately even having the knowledge of what starts them does not stop all of them from coming.
Prayer Request:
Hannah-Health
Pie Drive-Follow up visits
Church Van – It has been in the shop for over a month now.
Church Parking Lot- Need total of $27,0000 we have $7,000 raised
Wisdom- We are being affected by some false teaching put out by Steven Anderson right now
Ministry at University of South Florida- Praying for the Lord to open the door to start a ministry that would give us full access to the
campus. Unfortunately, there is a church that has been driving over an 1hour one way to do Westboro Baptist style protest on
campus. This sadly is not helping the Baptist name on Campus.
Laborers- Any one willing and qualified to teach or serve would be a tremendous blessing.
In His service,
The Corban Butler Family
